Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at skyvalleypreschool@hotmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes, you will receive a $10 discount on the additional classes.

Younger siblings may come with you to class but must remain in a carrier.  They are not allowed to have “feet on the floor” at any time.  You must also be able to perform your workday duties and interact with the students in the class without having the sibling be a classroom distraction.  Bringing siblings in a carrier usually works best for young children under a year.

The beauty of the co-op structure is that you get to invest your time and become part of your child’s education experience.  For all of the co-op structure classes, you will have an assigned workday that you are responsible for.  For the Orcas and Harbor Seal classes, this will be one day a week.  For the Otters (since it is only a one day a week class) you will be on a rotation with the other parents so you will not attend every single week.

This year we are offering a very limited, first come first served, number of Traditional preschool spaces in our Harbor Seals class (3-5 year olds).  In the Traditional model of preschool you would not be required to work in the classroom, be on a committee or participate in the once yearly cleaning.  You would still be responsible for participating in our annual auction and monthly parent meetings.  The Traditional model is more expensive than the co-op model.

As part of the co-op Preschool you are responsible for…

  1. A workday in the preschool.  You would be assisting the teacher and interacting with the children in the school for the entire time the class is in session.  This could be helping with the art project, playing in the block room or dramatic play area or conducting science experiments at the science table.
  2. A deep cleaning of the school.  You would be required to do one deep cleaning of the Preschool each school year.  You are allowed to clean from Friday afternoon until Saturday at 4:00.  This deep cleaning ensures our school remains sanitary.
  3. Participate in our annual auction.  Our preschool is funded by fundraising and tuition.  In order to keep tuition low our annual online auction is very important.  You will be expected to acquire donation items from area businesses for the auction.  The number of items you are required to get depends on what class your child is enrolled in.
  4. Attend monthly parent meetings.  These meetings are held in the evenings and are important so all co-op members can receive updates, information and documents (like the calendar) for the next month.  We also have a parent educator at the meetings who provides insight into the classroom and any challenges the membership may be facing.
  5. Join a committee or board position.
  6. All of the above requirements are per child.  So if you have two children enrolled you would have two workdays, join two committees, more auction items, and so on.
